Sebring 2007: Final Day

The #3 Corvette was repainted on Friday to celebrate the new Special Edition Ron Fellows Corvette Z06. The Corvettes also celebrated by destroying GT1 and it was never even a contest once the green flag flew. It was the most trouble free run I've seen the Corvettes have at Sebring.

It was not troublefree for many others though. GT2 was not a race or a battle, it was a war! One of the Peterson / White Lightning Ferrari's got the worst of it though catching on fire at turn 10 on the track. It was all worth it though, because the #62 Risi Ferrari and $45 Flying Lizards Porsche had a final lap showdown that won't soon be forgotten. The pair traded the GT2 lead on the backstretch coming to the checkered, and traded paint through 17 and on the frontstretch with the Ferrari winning by less than a second.

The Audis were again relentless. I think they did have a few problems, but were able to atleast make it LOOK easy with their whipser quiet diesel R10s.

P2 was expected to be a close race between the Penske and Dyson Porsches, but both teams experienced lots of problems and allowed the XM Acura with the IRL stars to challenge at times for the overall lead before settling for the P2 victory.
